U.K. logistics firm sees delivery miles drop under new routing system

U.K. firm Blakemore Logistics' use of a dynamic routing system has led to a reduction in the company's delivery miles of more than half a million, according to this article. The system also allowed Blakemore to trim down the company's fleet by 10%. "This is definitely the modern way to manage wholesale distribution because staying with a fixed routing approach means you will always have an element of waste due to overcapacity in the plan and in resourcing," Blakemore Logistics Manager Marc Deakin said.
