U.S. jobless claims down ahead of Fed meeting, but data questioned

The reported number of initial claims for U.S. jobless benefits dropped a sharp 31,000 last week, but much of the decline was attributed to claims-processing difficulties. The report is the last major jobs reading the Federal Reserve will have before its policymakers meet next week to decide the future of its stimulus.
