Arthritis patients may want to consider meditation

Researchers in Maryland are studying arthritis patients to see if they experience less pain when practicing mindfulness, a stress reduction therapy similar to many meditation techniques. The stresses of everyday life appear to make arthritis problems worse, and because meditation places the patient in a relaxed state it may eventually decrease the pain.
