Ringtone business is tangled affair

The music industry for a few years now has viewed the cell-phone ringtone market as a potential cash cow, and while that business sometimes is very lucrative, it also has descended into a near-chaotic market plagued by contract feuds and difficult technical issues. And some observers think the train is leaving the station as mobile phones become more sophisticated and soon may merge with digital-music players to hold their own songs.
