Virtual schools offer students new way to learn in Florida

Florida began requiring virtual public-school programs for kindergarten through eighth-grade students in all of the state's school districts this year. Most districts use a contractor approved by the state's Department of Education to run their online schools, and all schools must use state-certified instructors. The plan is to expand virtual schools to include high-school students next year.
