Americans seek out true Thai food

As Americans develop more adventurous palates, they are embracing Thai food once considered strange, including salted fish called pla khem and durian, known as the world's worst-smelling fruit. Even in Chicago, which does not have a large Thai population, restaurants serve caterpillar and spicy fish maw salad.
