Two outlet center trades in Ohio illustrate how wide-ranging retail conditions are in the market -- despite their proximity to each other. The former Jeffersonville II/Home Goods center sold for $1.8 million in June to a partnership between Coughlin Automotive and R&L Carriers, a trucking firm. It has been struggling but the new owners plan to reposition it as a mix of discount stores and an upscale flea market. Prime Outlets Jeffersonville is a thriving center that was acquired in September by Simon Property Group as part of its acquisition of Prime Outlets centers. Simon plans to continue to attract upscale outlet retailers to the center.
