Voser: Global oil supplies could fall if U.S. prolongs drilling moratorium

Extending the U.S. government's deepwater-drilling moratorium could hurt global crude supplies by 2015, said Peter Voser, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell. While the freeze has only had a minimal impact, its extension could damage deepwater supplies from 2015 to 2020, "and the world needs to watch that," he added. Voser, who spoke during the 21st World Energy Congress in Montreal, also touted natural gas as a long-term solution to dwindling oil reserves and increasing energy demands.
