California infrastructure to benefit from $800M CalPERS fund

A retirement fund is planning to set aside $800 million to invest in California's infrastructure as a way to create jobs. The investment committee of the state's Public Employees' Retirement System voted to create the fund -- part of a larger effort -- to finance public infrastructure projects such as road building, bridge and port construction and power-transmission lines.
