HHS touts increased provider participation in EHR incentive program

More than 80,000 providers have signed up for EHR incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said at a health IT conference in Washington. In addition, roughly 70% of small providers in rural areas have teamed up with regional extension centers, which offer assistance in EHR acquisition and deployment, she said.
