Report reveals pharmacists' views on medication adherence

Pharmacists feel responsible for patients' adherence to prescription regimens, with 76% of those surveyed saying that they bear more responsibility for adherence than doctors, managed care organizations or drugmakers, according to an Industry Standard Research study. Although 81% of pharmacists said they are familiar with drugmaker and MCO efforts to pay them for counseling patients, only 24% say they have participated.
