Should all school field trips be educational?

The East Allegheny, Pa., school board recently altered its policy on school field trips, allowing only those with educational value to be approved. However, some parents say the board should reconsider its decision to ban trips, such as those to go bowling, that had been used as rewards for top students. The parents say the trips acted as incentives for students to perform well on standardized tests.
