Dietitian offers tips to help seniors eat healthy at home

Many seniors who live at home fail to eat a nutritious diet because of issues such as physical difficulties in preparing foods, lack of appetite and sense of taste, and medical conditions, registered dietitian Bonnie Taub-Dix writes. Solutions include buying easy-to-prepare foods such as soups and spicy foods to boost taste; eating more fresh fruits and vegetables to promote regularity; and choosing heart-healthy foods such as fish, Taub-Dix writes.
