DOD: Assad led gas attack, not Syrian opposition

Russian President Vladimir Putin is wrong in asserting that the Syrian opposition could have launched the recent chemical attack, the Pentagon says, because only the Assad regime has the power to unleash a gas attack of the scale seen. "Russia is isolated and alone in blaming the opposition. We've seen no credible reporting the opposition has used chemical weapons in Syria," said Pentagon press secretary George Little.
