EDF picks GE to provide turbines to Texas wind project

General Electric has agreed to furnish 200 megawatts' worth of its 1.85-MW turbines to a wind farm that EDF Renewable Energy is developing in Texas. EDF signed a deal to take over the Hereford wind project's first phase and has an option to increase the deal up to 500 MW. EDF has also completed "a long-term hedge" on the initial phase of the project, said Ryan Pfaff, an executive vice president.
