EU lawmakers' stance on ILUC dismays biofuel group

The European Parliament's endorsement of a plan to limit crop-based biofuels to 6% of transportation fuels and acknowledgment of indirect land use change as a factor in carbon accounting have been met with divided reactions. French representative Corinne Lepage said the plan would spur innovation in advanced biofuels, but Rob Vierhout, secretary general of industry group ePure, said the adoption of ILUC would hinder the industry's growth.
