Foundation set for common core in Ky.

Two years ago, Kentucky became the first state in the U.S. to implement the Common Core State Standards. While educators say the initial rollout was difficult, they also say students now have "the foundation" and are rising to the higher expectations set for them. "I feel more confident and comfortable with what the standards are asking and with what my students need to be able to do, and also with what I need to do to help them," said Kate Grindon, a seventh-grade English teacher at Meyzeek Middle School.
