A look at mortgage-backed bond offers insight into crisis

A subprime mortgage bond made out of loans from Countrywide Financial remains in existence despite the fact that in 2009 nearly all of its mortgages were reportedly near default. The bond, CWABS 2006-7, is a microcosm of how the financial crisis affected institutions as well as homeowners and the complex nature of the housing market.
