Ad-rich Web site for kids causes concern

One of the most popular Web sites for kids is, which lets users feed, play with and nurse digital pets. But the site, which has 23 million registered users, has been criticized by some parents and children's advocates who frown upon the site's heavy use of advertising. A company spokesman said Neopets works to balance a family-friendly environment with revenue goals and urged parents to monitor children's use of the site.
