Sony group to pay nearly $5 billion for MGM

An investors group led by Sonywill pay $3 billion and assume another $1.9 billion in debt to take control of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The purchase ends a bidding war with Time-Warner for control of the movie studio. Sony and its partners will gain custody of the largest film library in Hollywood.
