Levee break leaves New Orleans parish exposed

St. Bernard Parish, located east of New Orleans will remain at risk -- even from small storms -- until the 17-foot-tall earthen levee that had protected the area can be rebuilt, the Army Corps of Engineers said. It will take "a lot longer than four months," to rebuild the levee, Col. Duane P. Gapinski said, cautioning it may not be rebuilt even by the start of next year's hurricane season.
