Loews plans expansion to bring in upscale hotels

Loews is planning on making a "tactical expansion" over the next five years, with 15 new properties expected to be added to its current portfolio of 17 hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Loews president Jack Adler said the company is looking at properties "either at the high end of the Four Diamond scale or can be transformed to a Four Diamond," in key gateway cities in areas where the company is lacking representation.
