Student laptops raise safety concerns

As Philadelphia prepares to distribute more than 10,000 laptops to students over the next 18 months, district officials are taking steps to ensure the safety of pupils as they carry the devices to and from school. The district has purchased software that will trace stolen devices and on high school has advised students, if they are accosted, to give up the laptops.
