Honeywell developing system to warn tower, pilots of incursions

A system that combines Sensis' ground radar system with Honeywell's midair collision-avoidance technology could one day simultaneously alert airport control towers and affected pilots of potential runway collisions, saving crucial time now lost when the information is relayed. The system was demonstrated to the FAA and has drawn a cautiously positive response. An FAA spokesman called the technology "very promising" but noted it is still in the demonstration phase.
