Herschel Shosteck, cellular pioneer, dies at 71

Herschel S. Shosteck, 71, a pioneer who began following the cellular industry as a consultant in 1969 and wrote a market study a year before the FCC issued its first license, passed away Aug. 26. Shosteck was also a scholar of biblical archaeology and Judaica who made half a dozen trips through the Negev desert to study the region's religious history.
