Baucus unveils health bill without government-run option

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., on Wednesday presented a $856 billion health care reform bill that would make health insurance mandatory for all Americans and ban insurers from denying coverage because of pre-existing conditions. The proposal endorses nonprofit, member-owned cooperatives instead of a government-run insurance to compete with private carriers.
