Calif. golf courses rely on technology to stay green

Turf managers rely on technology to maintain golf courses in the planned communities of Rancho Bernardo, Calif. "Instead of watering all the greens to cool them down, we use the laser thermometers to tell us which greens are too hot and need to be cooled down," said Chris Hayman, superintendent at Oaks North Golf Course. Bernardo Heights Country Club also uses an on-site weather station to monitor irrigation.
