EPA, Calif. officials conduct drills to handle toxic chemicals during quakes

The Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control are conducting disaster-response drills in the Bay Area to train officials on how to contain toxic substances in the aftermath of a major earthquake. The exercises also include training on how to respond to damage to bridges and chemical and water facilities.
