Melco International Development Ltd. posted a first-half loss of $104.7 million, a 32% wider loss than the same period last year. However, revenue rose by more than 50%. The Hong Kong company owned by Lawrence Ho, the son of Macau gambling magnate Stanley Ho, operates casinos in Macau. Melco opened the City of Dreams casino-resort this year, and the company's market share of Macau gaming revenue grew to 17%.
