New York state passes bill to help retrofit buildings

The New York State Senate passed an energy efficiency and green jobs bill last week that encourages retrofitting buildings. More than 33% of the world's energy is consumed by buildings, according to the Clinton Climate Initiative. The bill sets up a loan program for both businesses and residential customers to upgrade inefficient buildings.
