Boeing freighter woes mirror Dreamliner problems

Boeing's ambitious plan to compete with Airbus' A380 double-decker jet, by updating the 747 jumbo jet for the freighter market with 787 Dreamliner technology, has run into delays, partially related to Dreamliner production problems. Both jets have faced missed deadlines, supply-chain problems and design flaws and are well over budget, compromising Boeing's reputation as a leader in aviation engineering.
