EBay claims an eco-friendly advantage for its online business model

EBay released a report this week detailing how the business model of the online merchant benefits the Earth, starting with the smaller carbon footprint achieved by selling online versus operating bricks-and-mortar stores. "By minimizing infrastructure, reducing the need for warehousing, and maximizing transportation efficiency, small online retailers have created a climate-friendly way to buy and sell," the report states.
