New Colorado development focuses on water conservation

The Denver Botanic Gardens is helping create a new system for water conservation at a proposed $4.3 billion housing development covering 3,400 acres. It plans to install drought-tolerant plants for community landscaping, along with agriculture that supports sustainable gardening. The development is expected to use about one-third of the water generally needed by other area residential projects.
