Restaurant glass-recycling program kicks into high gear

Green Mountain Glass in Huntsville, Ala., started its glass-recycling program as a test in a handful of local restaurants; now the company is seeking to rapidly sign up new eateries. The company is especially interested in winning more bars, which go through a significant amount of beer and liquor bottles. "We can take about 150 tons a week of glass out of the landfill," said John Baker, vice president of sales.
