Feds award $8.5M in IT grants to 85 community health centers

Federal officials announced $8.5 million in funds to help 85 health facilities in Beacon Communities deploy IT and participate in communitywide patient care efforts. The grants "are an important step in giving these communities the resources they need to implement home-grown programs that work for them and that can be sustained for years to come," National Health IT Coordinator Dr. Farzad Mostashari said.
