Mich. city ISD studies operational costs of 3 different school buses

The Lenawee Intermediate School District in Adrian, Mich., is conducting a comparative study on the operational costs of a propane autogas-fueled school bus, conventional diesel buses and hybrid school buses. The school district will monitor the performance of each bus type for two years to determine which is more economical to operate, said LISD Superintendent Jim Philp. LISD will look at the buses' maintenance costs along with their fuel efficiency and purchase price, Philp said.
