Congress should embrace President Barack Obama's jobs bill that would help boost the economy by repairing 35,000 schools across the country, write Steve English, co-director of the nonprofit Advancement Project, and Mary Filardo, executive director of the 21st Century School Fund. They contend that the proposal has the potential to reverse some of the neglect to school facilities brought on by ongoing budget cuts, increase job opportunities now and ensure a more educated workforce for the future.
