Survey finds momentum is slow in implementing common core

Fewer than 50% of the districts in states that signed on to the Common Core State Standards have made significant progress in implementing them, according to a new survey by the Center on Education Policy. Districts also reported little guidance from their states in the transition to the standards, with some saying it's not necessary to make wholesale changes to their curricula or instructional practices. About 75% of districts said tight budgets had slowed their implementation of the standards.
