Video games are a hot medium

Video games as an advertising channel are emerging unscathed from the economic downturn, with marketers anticipating that they will ramp up their worldwide spending in and around this space to $7.2 billion by 2016, with about three-quarters of that spend going toward advergames or ads wrapped around games. Globally, game ad revenue will generate $3.1 billion in 2011, per DFC Intelligence's data.
