Jobs data might not be weak enough to unseat Obama

The Economist delves into U.S. jobs data and finds plenty of grounds to be gloomy about the country's economic prospects. Still, the country's lackluster performance might still be enough to convince voters to give Barack Obama a second term. "If job growth continues at the pace of the past 12 months, more Americans would be working at election time than when Mr Obama took office -- no small achievement, given that he inherited an economy shedding 800,000 jobs a month," the magazine notes.
