Menstrual suppression: Is it safe?

Despite Barr Laboratories' claim that its new birth-control pill, Seasonale, is safe, some specialists disagree and argue there have not been enough studies on the safety of long-term menstrual suppression. One psychiatrist and women's health specialist says period-stalling can cause a number of health problems, including heart disease as a result of iron buildup in the blood.
