Proposed deal would help failing Miami-Dade high schools

In a compromise still pending Florida Board of Education approval, the Miami-Dade school district will place teacher and principal mentors at three failing high schools and transfer a few of the schools' teachers to other campuses. Schools chief Rudy Crew said he resisted state board pressure to reassign principals or larger numbers of teachers because such turnover would destabilize the schools.
