Hospitals say alternative therapies enhance patient satisfaction

More U.S. hospitals are offering alternative medicine options, such as acupuncture, touch therapy, and music and art therapy. Some patients have come to expect the services, which hospitals find can enhance a patient's experience. Health care experts say more research is needed on the clinical benefits, but hospitals say patient satisfaction is the top criteria for determining if an alternative therapy is a success.
