Carl's Jr., Hardee's campaign takes aim at McDonald's

McDonald's and its iconic Big Mac sandwich are the target of a new TV and social-media effort for Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants. The CKE Restaurants chains are claiming that McDonald's is stepping on their turf with its Angus Third Pounder, which competes with Carl's Original Six Dollar Burger and Hardee's Thickburger. The effort includes a series of viral clips on its Facebook page and YouTube featuring comedian J.B. Smoove that were shot by 72 and Sunny, as well as a TV spot from Mendelsohn Zien.
