FASB chief hopes for compromise with IASB on fair-value rules

Financial Accounting Standards Board Chairman Robert Herz said a plan for fair-value accounting in the nation is more stringent than a plan from the International Accounting Standards Board. Herz said he hopes the two boards can reach a "convergence" that satisfies the goals of both.
