N.C. governor: District should have rehired more teachers

North Carolina leaders say that Wake County officials used federal stimulus money incorrectly when the county did not hire back some teachers and other staff who lost their jobs because of budget cuts. Gov. Beverly Perdue says rehiring more teachers would reduce class sizes. Wake Superintendent Del Burns says the district is using the money to create as many jobs as it can, but federal restrictions limit how much he can use to rehire staff.
