La. levee board OKs bond sale to fund flood-protection projects

The levee board of Terrebonne, La., has cleared a proposal to sell bonds worth as much as $49 million to increase funds for the construction of levees and other structures to mitigate flooding in the region. The board will present the proposal to the Terrebonne Parish Council next month for approval.
