Report: Ethics, environmental impact affect buying decisions

People tend to look at the environmental and ethical consequences of what they buy -- and three out of four would switch to a different product if it were "greener," according to a survey by The Guardian of London. However, "consistent product quality" wins overall, no matter how green or ethically produced. And most respondents say they ignore corporate communication about brands' or products' environmental qualities, instead getting their information from news media and documentaries.
