Senate panel scrutinizes funding increases for regulators

A Senate appropriations subcommittee has approved legislation that would bolster funding for some regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission. However, Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., raised questions about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's funding structure. Moran said the spending bill could be used as "a vehicle" for changes to the way the CFPB is funded.
