Studies find markers for CVD-related deaths in type 2 diabetes

Increased levels of peroxiredoxin-4 antioxidants were associated with a higher rate of cardiovascular-related and all-cause mortality over a 9.8-year follow-up on Dutch patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study reported at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting. A separate study showed high rates of resistin proteins had the same effects.
